FREQUENTLY ASKED FUNDRAISING QUESTIONS

Q: Is there online fundraising?
A:
Yes! We have an exciting new system making it easy and fun to fundraise for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Team Connecticut Children's registration includes a personal fundraising page! 100% of proceeds support care for local children. How about being a Team Captain? Even if you do not plan on participating in a marathon day event, you can sign-up as an Virtual Runner and help encourage your fellow team members with your fundraising.

Q: What are the fundraising minimums for each registration type?
A:
Every Team Connecticut Children's member is responsible for a fundraising minimum depending on participant registration type. If the minimum amount is not reached by November 15, 2017, a delayed self-pledge will be charged to the card on file for this pledge.

  • Full Marathon - $250
  • Half Marathon - $200
  • Relay               - $150
  • 5K                    - $100
  • HMF FitKids    - $0

Q: How do I start fundraising?
A: You have to be registered for Team Connecticut Children's, either as a Runner or a Virtual Participant, to begin fundraising. Once you register, we automatically create a personal fundraising page for you! If you choose to be a Team Captain you also get a Team Page. Follow the easy steps outlined below:

Step 1: Complete your registration to become a race/virtual event participant. Please consider becoming a Team Captain! Once your registration is complete, you will receive an email with your log-in details for the Participant Center and tips for updating your personal page.

Step 2: Log-in to your Participant Center to upload your personal photo and update the message. A personal message is key to communicating your "WHY?" - Why are you running? Who are you running for? Please ask permission from parent/guardian before using a child's photo.

Step 3: ASK! Use the email center to send messages quickly & easily. You also have the ability to check the status of emails, allowing you to follow-up with those you haven’t heard from.

Step 4: SHARE! Be a race promoter by sharing the link on social media.

SEVERE WEATHER:  One thing we cannot control is severe weather.  Weather forecasts are tracked before the race for heavy rain, thunder and lightning and high winds. If there is a possibility of threatening weather, information will be posted on the web site and Facebook so that runners can prepare for severe weather during the race.
