Team Madison

We're adding more meaning to our miles.
Your support will make an impact.

We are participating in the 2017 Eversource Hartford Marathon as participants in the Half Marathon as part of Team Connecticut Children's specifically as Team Madison. We are running in honor of the thousands of children who turn to the Medical Center for care each year including a very close friend of ours baby girl Madison. Would you please consider supporting us by joining our team or making a contribution in support of our training and Half Marathon event run?

Just over 6 months ago a long time friend gave birth to two amazing babies, Jake and Madison. Soon after their birth doctors noticed Madison did not develop the same as her twin brother Jake and was diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome. Since then it has been a roller coaster ride of emotions for the whole family as there has been countless nights that Madison has spent in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Connectict Children's Medical Center.

Between the multiple surgeries this little fighter has gone thru including the most recent one to have a tracheostomy placed and the around the clock care I have seen Connecticut Children's Medical Center provide for Madison thru the Team Madison Facebook Page set up by her Parents, Sharon and Jim Barbieri, we could not think of any other charity we would rather run 13.1 miles for than CCMC. We are running to raise money specifically for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit where Madison's most recent stay has lasted 52 days and counting so that CCMC can continue deliver the amazing care that these amazing babies need.

Connecticut Children’s Medical Center delivers cutting-edge treatment to pediatric patients across multiple specialties – but our commitment to the well-being of our patients extends well beyond the bedside. At Connecticut Children’s, we are continually seeking to improve and define the standards of pediatric care, identifying new and better treatments and finding cures for children’s health issues.

Today’s investments will make tomorrow’s care even more exceptional for these patients and help make the children in Connecticut the healthiest in the country. Please consider making a gift today or spreading the word about this event.
