Freeman Marathon Fundraiser for CCMC!
Getting to the Starting Line
In a few years of traveling in the van with my Folk Rock/Americana band called Parsonsfield, I’ve had the privilege to see nearly every interstate highway in the U.S. through a bug splattered windshields and smokey, sticker laden green rooms of rock halls and theatres. But van life and travel is so much better when you can see the world outside the music venue with slower eyes.
I started training for October’s Hartford Marathon in April. This will be my first of hopefully many more! It’s been an incredible summer, finding bike paths along The Mississippi, running with bear spray in the thick woods and thin air of the Canadian Rockies and letting my feet sink into the sands of the coasts. I ran in the shadows of a Grand Mesa and the treacherous cliffs of Malibu. It's been worth for its own sake but I'm excited to get out on the course and race!
What I'm Running For
I'll be running on the Gutz n Glory team for the GI department at Connecticut Children's Medical Center. CCMC is a great hospital that treated me through my various hockey injuries and helped so many of my friends and family and almost everyone who grew up in the Hartford area. The G.I. department has been particularly helpful to my family and is where my mother works as an administrative assistant.
My goal is to raise at least $250 but I hope to far exceed that! If you give a gift of $100 or more I will cover any song of your choice and upload a youtube video thanking you and singing your song! Careful, this might include me jamming on banjo, accordion, or saw, just so you know what you're getting into. I hope you’ll support me on this run and support Connecticut Children's Medical Center which is doing incredible work each day. 100% of your tax deductible donation will go directly to CCMC’s GI department and could help purchase state-of-the-art equipment and technology, help a family cover costs of associated treatment, or launch the next promising line of research. Every dollar counts!
